Strategy V2 is a highly powerful two-channel guitar preamp pedal with an overdrive mode, based around an audiophile-grade Burr Brown Op Amp. In ‘Preamp Mode’, Strategy can range from unity volume to a staggering 30dB boost, delivering enough volume to slam the front end of your amp for an incredible, fat and articulate overdrive. Toggling the switch on the back engages ‘Overdrive Mode’, adding subtle to substantial grit when riding the volume knob. Its elegant tone stack (present in both channels) allows you to perfectly sculpt your signal, making it an excellent choice for an “always on” pedal. As part of our Pickguard Series, choose from a variety of finishes, pickguards, knobs, and hardware, creating your very own custom preamp. An all analog shot of adrenaline!

Strategy V2 is equipped with our newly designed, SMART BYPASS switching system. This system is built around a relay-based, true bypass circuit. Much like traditional, mechanical true-bypass, the audio signal is routed directly between the input and output when the pedal is not engaged. Unlike traditional latching footswitches, our SMART BYPASS system uses a momentary footswitch and micro controller to allow the user the option of turning on the effect in a latching or momentary manner. A quick press of the footswitch activates the pedal as normal, while holding the footswitch activates momentary mode.

This feature makes for really fun momentary bursts. An internal DIP switch lets the user easily shut off the momentary feature. All units ship factory set with the DIP switch in the ON position. The SMART BYPASS system also features a unique fail-safe. If the pedal loses power, it will automatically revert to bypass mode regardless of the state it was in.

After I saw Phil X post about this on IG I know I needed to try this out. I’m very happy I did. As a studio owner of over 25 years, I’ve had plenty of guitar pedals in the arsenal, but nothing quite like this. Sure, it looks awesome, but the sound is really what got me hooked. It’s truly unlike anything (atleast) I have ever played before. My twin reverb has never sounded better. I also cannot stress this enough: use this on vocals and bass. The texture and “pump” this adds is really special. Nice work, dudes.
